"La Migraña"

Artist Statement:

I live with severe migraines which are a constant in my life depending on what the migraine gods are offering up on any given day or week. La Migraña – her face is a split image – pain on the right, a smile on the left. On the right, her forehead bears the mark of an aura, a half moon distressed by electrically charged bright light. Cover the droopy right side of her face, and the left side tells another story. She is two people at least. She wears seven-league boots. No small compensation under the circumstances. They came to me in a dream, and I figure Migraña and I need all the help we can get. Being able to make great strides toward wherever we might be going is a swell idea.
