"My Wall"

Artist Statement:

Two and a half years ago whilst pregnant with my son I slipped a disc. After I gave birth to him I had 41 operations and procedures on my back culminating in a triple spinal fusion - anything to get rid of the pain. I now am unable to walk properly and am bed-bound for at least 2 days a week, with a 2 year old and a 3 year old it's a challenge to say the very least! Having given up my career, I am now trying to become a ceramic artist. This painting is entitled My Wall. My Wall - The burning, tearing barbed wire of pain that is within spreads outward to create a wall that no one can penetrate, a wall of pain.
